Account book reflects, in part, Cresson's ongoing business concern in the Schuylkill Navigation Company as well as business transacted with individuals such as B. Wyatt Wistar & John D. Griscom. A description of important transcriptions begins at the opposite end of the book. Also copy of the will of Sarah Emlen Cresson, 1855.

John Hoskins Griscom received his M.D. Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1832. Following graduation he was appointed Assistant Physician of the New York Dispensary, becoming physician in 1834.
